Are you planning an upcoming camp, expedition, or indoor sleepover for your group?

Before any nights away activity can take place, including sleepovers held inside your regular meeting headquarters, a Nights Away Notification (NAN) must be submitted through the official Scouts membership system, and approval must be granted by the District team.

Key Guidelines for Leaders

  1. All Overnight Events Included: Whether it’s a week-long summer camp or a single-night indoor sleepover, a NAN form is required.
  2. Strict 7-Day Lead Time: Submissions must be made at least 7 days prior to the start of the event.
  3. Why the 7-Day Rule Matters: The lead time allows the District team to complete essential checks, verify safety approvals, confirm leader permits, and ensure proper emergency contact coverage.
